Welcome to the launch of our new blog: "The Pleasure of Your Company for Brides." We've already seen over 100 brides in the store who are planning 2012 weddings and it is our hope that all of you will find valuable tips and advice in this blog, not just for save-the-dates, invitations, programs and other paper items, but for all aspects of your wedding planning. We've been working with brides for 30 years now; in fact, we think it's really special that we are regularly doing weddings for brides and grooms whose parents ordered their birth announcements from us years ago.
For the next month, we will concentrate on the beginning of the wedding planning process - what you need to do first, what we know that can make it all easier and less stressful - both from our perspective and with the help of some great guest bloggers.
But first, a word to brides-to-be who have been engaged for awhile:
Do you know what the most popular time of year is for proposals and engagements? Christmas, followed by New Year's Eve and Thanksgiving.
So if you are planning a 2012 wedding, and you haven't decided on some of your major vendors, if you are still reviewing proposals, if you haven't returned signed contracts or paid deposits, better get on it. Pretty soon you are going to have a lot of competition in the running for the best vendors on the most popular dates - don't look over your shoulder, it will be scary!
November and December are great times to schedule intensive meetings with your major vendors - the busiest part of the Baltimore wedding season is over and your vendors won't be as involved with weddings every weekend. If you wait until January, the newly engaged brides will also be booking appointments, and appointment books will be full.
So here we go. We would love to hear from you - questions, comments, photos, stories, advice - all will be most welcome.
